Scholarships

To help address the looming nursing shortage in Oregon, and to ensure that diverse individuals from all walks of life can afford to enter the profession of nursing (or pursue advanced degrees in nursing practice), ONF offers a range of scholarships to help offset the costs of nursing study.

The Centennial Education Scholarship Fund was created to support nursing students in pre-licensure programs (BSN, ADN).

Scholarship award for costs of attending a prelicensure program, including tuition, fees and other expenses directly related to participating in the education program.

Equity Scholarship Program

The Equity Scholarship Fund was created to increase the racial and ethnic diversity of the nursing workforce in Oregon to more closely reflect the patient population.  The program seeks to provide early financial support for applicants from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups enrolled in a nursing program.  Applicants who self-identify as a member of an underrepresented group are encouraged to apply.

Huggins and Haggland Grant for Continuing Education

The Huggins and Haggland Grant for Continuing Education (HHCE) allows ONA members the opportunity to advance their career in the field of nursing by networking and gaining valuable knowledge through attendance and participation in continuing education conferences, workshops, advanced trainings and online programs.

Smith Education Scholarship

The Smith Education Scholarship Fund was established through the contribution of Milton F. Smith of Roseburg, Oregon.  The fund is administered by the Oregon Nurses Foundation in collaboration with the Oregon Nurses Association Cabinet on Education. 

NPO Scholarship

The NPO Scholarship provides financial assistance to a selected student in a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program who meets the specified criteria, for educational purposes.

Randall L. Williams Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Education

This scholarship was developed to honor Randall L. Williams and  provides tuition assistance to future nurses. Two scholarship awards will be given annually. This scholarship will be awarded for primary nursing (RN – Associate or BSN) education only (not advanced nursing degree).
